On Sunday 19th May the club took part in the Surrey Floor & Vault Teams competition at the Guildford Spectrum. This competition invited team entries at all levels from Novice to Gold, with teams consisting of 4 gymnasts. We entered 3 teams at Novice level, 3 teams at Intermediate level, 1 Advanced team and 1 gymnast, Yasmin, at Bronze level.

We are absolutely delighted with the results. Our Novice teams performed well and one came first out of all U10 age groups, with Tilly and Caris achieving highest scores in that round. In the Intermediates round all 3 of our teams came away with medals. For both Novice and Intermediates this is especially pleasing as in a typical teams competition, the best 3 of the 4 scores count. In our case, our medal winning teams only had 3 in each team, so a single low score would have pulled them down. But they performed really well and did us proud. Our Advanced team again had 3 members and to make matters worse, on the day one of them was injured during warm up, which left just two so unable to compete as a team. Fortunately, at Advanced level gymnasts are also placed individually and here were are delighted that Imogen won Gold in her age group and Scarlett won a Bronze medal. Our Bronze level gymnast, Yasmin, took Silver medal with a routine that received very positive comments form the judges.

A really good day for us and well done to all who took part!
